The HERO campaign kicked-off in early October 2023, with the participation of more than a dozen media outlets each featuring an unsung hero in their community. The top 3 finalists were selected by reader audience online votes. Grant placed 2nd in the HERO campaign. Her charity of choice, the Westchester Food Pantry, was awarded $2,500 in prize money.
During the award ceremony Grant said, “This honor and recognition is appreciated but the real heroes are the people who volunteer for the Westchester Food Pantry.”
