ELMWOOD PARK | The Elmwood Park Holiday Stroll kicks off this Friday, December 6th, and Village President Angelo “Skip” Saviano has invited everyone to come out for the festivities. There is no cost to attend or participate in any of the activities.
“The Holiday Stroll always gets me into the spirit of the season,” Saviano said in a press release. “The Village Circle is lit up like the North Pole. There’s caroling, hot chocolate, and of course, a visit from Santa.”
The party begins at 5pm on Conti Parkway and is packed with fun for the whole family. The tree lighting will occur promptly at 6pm in front of Village Hall. Kids will have the opportunity to drop off their letters to Santa and take a picture with him on the west side of the Community and Recreation Center immediately after the tree lighting. The line to see Santa will begin near the outdoor bocce courts.
“This year, we have two special guests that will be joining us,” Saviano said. “Mickey and Minnie Mouse will attend the Elmwood Park Holiday Stroll.”
The Turning Point dancers will perform at 5:30, and the Chicago Carolers will sing all your favorite holiday songs from 6:15-7:00. Kids can take a train ride around the circle from 5:00-6:30 and hot chocolate will be served by The Barre Studio and Café and the Elmwood Park Youth Commission from 5-7 while supplies last. Popcorn will also be provided by the Elmwood Park Public Library. All of this comes at no cost to attendees.
“I look forward to seeing everyone out under the lights for the Holiday Stroll, especially the kids,” Saviano. said. “It’s truly the most wonderful time of the year.”
