BELLWOOD | Local and neighboring residents were thrilled to come check out the new McDonald’s space and be entertained by balloon and craft activities made available to kids and and kids-at-heart by franchise owner’s Jan and Ray Nelson. Kids of all ages treated to the Amazing Balloon Creations on Friday, Oct 6, and visit by the Hamburglar on Oct 7, at the newly renovated Bellwood McDonald’s located at 25th Ave and Washington Blvd were lovin’ it.
Kids and families who attended the special appearance by the Hamburglar had “lots of fun”. Noelle Banks, of Bellwood who had never personally met the Hamburglar said about the event, “this was the best day…and I took a picture with him [Hamburglar].”
“I had so much fun meeting everyone, and going from table to table, greeting guests in the drive-thru, and of course all the fun photo’s in the Photo Booth” said the masked Hamburglar. However, guests were on-guard as the masked Hamburglar is notorious for sneaking off with unattended Happy Meals under his famous cape.
The event was all part of the Bellwood McDonald’s Grand Opening festivities planned throughout the month of October. (story continued below photo gallery)
Residents are encouraged to stop in and look at all the special events that the new McDonald’s has planned for the community to enjoy through October 22nd. If you missed last Friday’s Balloon Creation event, no worries the balloon artist will be back on Friday, October 20th, followed by the Ronald McDonald magic show on Sunday, October 22nd at 2:00pm. The October line up of events offer up fun activities for the whole family. Residents can stop in and say hi to the crew and register in store for a chance to win one of their great grand opening raffle prizes.
The Nelson’s are grateful to the community they’ve called home since the 1980s for all its support during all the Grand Opening events. “We are so proud to have this beautiful restaurant on 25th Ave in Bellwood and proud to be a part of this great community,” the Nelson’s said about their labor of love.
