BELLWOOD | A new eatery is coming to the Village of Bellwood this week.
Club 717 is scheduled for a soft opening this Thursday at 717 Bellwood Avenue, where Mr. Lee’s was previously located.
This will be the first location to open from private investors — the second location at 2817 St. Charles Rd, formerly the VFW, is under construction — who believe that Bellwood and its residents will benefit greatly from a “local establishment”.
The move to welcome Club 717 is part of the village’s economic plan to bring in new business, said Peter Tsiolis, whose firm, Strategic Project Management, manages economic development for the Village of Bellwood.
“The Village of Bellwood is proud to attract high-quality businesses, and Club 717 has very successful business owners that will make a nice addition to the area,” Tsiolis said.
The Club 717 location on Bellwood Avenue will offer an amenity above food and libations that other local clubs don’t: gaming. Gaming will be available by the end of January said club owners.
While getting to know the area to see whether the business would be a good fit, investors talked to residents and learned that a return to the feel of a local meeting spot that previously operated out of that same location prior to its deterioration would be welcomed.
Club 717 investors want the pub to be an adult destination for fun with their made-to-order food, pizza, premium blends, and craft beers, they said.
Patrons will be treated to live DJ’s on the weekends. On weekdays they can expect to relax in a sports bar vibe surrounded by 4 large screen televisions, strategically placed in the main dining area, that offer high definition views sports lovers will appreciate and come back for.
As if liquor, gaming, pizza, Italian Beef and dessert isn’t by itself enough to draw in customers by the dozens, Club 717 will debut a sound system-enhanced outdoor beer garden with a maximum capacity of 100 people.
Club 717 soft opening begins this Thursday at 6 p.m. at 717 Bellwood Avenue. The official grand opening is Friday 4 p.m.
