MAYWOOD | Keshoun Crofton, 22, of Maywood, appeared in bond court last week, and faces several charges following a July 17 incident.
Crofton has been charged with aggravated possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated discharge of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm and aggravated fleeing and eluding. Police said that on July 17, Crofton—the driver of a red Chevrolet Impala, bearing an Illinois license and recently reported stolen as an aggravated vehicular hijacking from Chicago—fled from Maywood Police and surrounding police agencies.
During the pursuit, Crofton allegedly displayed and fired a handgun in the direction of pursuing Maywood police vehicles. Police said Crofton was apprehended in the area of Grand Avenue and Oak Street (River Grove) without further incident.
Upon completion of the investigation, charges were approved by the Cook County State’s Attorney Office. Crofton was transported to the Circuit Court of Cook County 4th Municipal District, where his bond was set at $90,000. He was due to appear in court on Wednesday.
