BELLWOOD | District 88, Lincoln Elementary, Bellwood, held their annual McTeacher’s Night at the Bellwood McDonald’s located on 25th Ave. on November 2nd. The McTeacher’s Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald’s and then giving a percentage of the night’s sales to the local school.
On Thursday the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Lincoln Elementary. The students and families were excited to see their teachers behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.
The McTeacher’s jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, and serving ice cream cones–all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm.
Ronald McDonald stopped by to enjoy the festivities and meet the students and staff members. The students enjoyed getting their picture taken and giving Ronald McDonald high fives! Superintendent, Mark Holder also came in to support Lincoln Elementary School and get a picture with Ronald McDonald. Victoria Hanson Director of Curriculum and Instruction was also there to support Lincoln.
Lincoln Elementary Literacy Specialist Ms. Sharon Bennett organized the event and alongside the teacher’s worked hard to make it a success. Lincoln plans to use the money raised for Family Literacy Night in May, Parcc Fridays, and Field Day.
