A Proviso East 2002 graduate, Javania M. Webb currently serves as the Family and Student Mentor for Grace Hill Settlement House inside of Bryan Hill Elementary.
Webb’s passion is and always has been to help youth of color “figure out and know their worth”. Webb created the organization You Are Worthy, Inc., which is an extension of her values and beliefs, to carry out the mission of empowering black youth.
Webb served for nearly two years at Queen of Peace Center as a Substance Abuse Case Manager, and served for four years at the Chestnut Health Systems as a Crisis Specialist. She has more than 6-years experience in Program Development and 14-years experience mentoring for different agencies throughout Illinois and Missouri.
She is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and Lindenwood University. She believes that it takes a village to raise a child. “It’s imperative to provide examples of fulfillment and responsibility to our children. They are the future.”
Forever the student of life and learning, Webb is currently researching Doctoral Programs to help further her life’s purpose and mission, as well the lives of others.
