Broadview residents and officials are mourning the loss of village a trustee.
Tara Brewer died on Jan. 17 of a long-fought and serious illness at Loyola University Medical Center, according to a statement released by Broadview Mayor Katrina Thompson.
“Tara was a trustee since 2015 and a village resident for 45 years,” Thompson stated. “Tara has been a tremendous asset to our community and was instrumental in the passing of the 2017-2018 village budget.”
“She is survived by her son, Dereon Adams and her parents, Lacy and Hattie Brewer. She will be sorely missed. Remembrances can be sent to the Village of Broadview, 2350 S. 25th Ave, Broadview, IL, 60155.”
In her memory, the flags over the Broadview administration building flew at half-staff on Thursday, Jan. 18.
Funeral arrangements for Brewer’s visitation are made for Friday, Jan. 26, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Wallace Funeral Home, 2020 W. Roosevelt Rd, in Broadview.
Brewer’s remembrance service is arranged for Saturday, Jan. 27, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Garden of Prayer Church, 2001 S. 17th Ave., in Broadview.
Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery, 4301 Roosevelt Rd., in Hillside.
