Highlights:  Andre Harvey, of the *Bellwood First Party, ran uncontested for the mayoral seat, garnering 2,259 votes to become the village’s first African-American mayor.  The Bellwood First Party slate won handily across the board.  Loser in the Bellwood race:  John Hicks, for Trustee, 11% of the vote.

Highlights:  The Village of Broadview election was among the most highly-contested in Proviso Township.  The *Broadview People’s Party slate handily swept the race in each category: Katrina Thompson, Mayor; Kevin McGrier, Clerk; Trustees:  Sherman Jones (incumbent mayor), Judy Abraham, Verina Horne.   Katrina Thompson became the first woman and first African American woman elected mayor of the village.
